I heard something recently, I think it was on tv, that most children aren't planned. This really came as a shock to me at first, but after I thought about it, I wondered if it was true. I know four other girls who have children around my sons age, and out of the five of us, only my son was planned. . . so I was just curious to see how it happened for other people. . . SO: Did your plan for your child/children, or were they accidental?

Our son wasn't planned or an accident.
We weren't trying, but we weren't preventing either.

Our first son was just like H.Starr said...we weren't trying, but we weren't trying not to.

Our second son was a bit of a surprise...even though we really weren't preventing there either

I'm not terribly fertile, so both my boys were planned and long awaited. Fortunately I didn't have to resort to medical help with either one.

Like Heather and Jenn, we weren't trying but we weren't preventing. I call him a surprise. We had been trying but it wasn't working... so we stopped and a year later I got pregnant.

It was kind of funny, my husband and I had a fight, after it was done we went to the bedroom for make up sex and I warned him we could get pregnant because I might be ovulating. He said "Oh well..." and a month later I ended another fight (we were fighting a lot because of money issues) by saying "Want to have a baby?" and handing him the positive test.
Well to be honest, the fight was over, he was still a little mad, but we had let it all go at that point. That made him go from kind of mad still to almost jumping for joy.

All three of my children were unplanned but came as great surprises. I think children are blessings. But wow my first was a huge surprise. We were engaged, moving in 2 weeks, and husband just gradated college and he was starting his career. Add a pregnancy on top of all that! Thanks for asking SiMama.
