I read a study that said 2 times a week was the 'average' for most American married couples with children.

I don't think anything could be considered 'normal' because normal is one of those relative terms. If you're having it enough that you're satisfied and your SO is satisfied then you're normal. If you're having issues of one wanting more/less. Be vocal and talk about it, let your partner know what you like/want/need and listen to what they like/want/need in exchange. Yes, it will likely be as awkward as 'the talk' when your kids are older, but the more open you are with your partner about it, the closer you will both get to having the sex life that you both want/need/deserve/like.

Communication is key in any relationship and your sex life is no different.

Haha, yeah, normal isn't exactly something that can be described in this topic. For us: 4-7+ per week.

same here jazzy. pre-baby we had sex at least once a day everyday, but most the time it was two or three times a day. I guess that explains our son! Now, (big sigh) it's more like two or three times a week by the time we both get home from work, do chores, cook, spend the evening with our son, etc.. we're just plain tired. We'd both like to have sex more often, but when our son naps or goes to bed for the evening that's our time to catch up on everything we can't do when he's awake, like laundry, cleaning in general, bill paying, correspondence, etc...

That was a joke intended to point out that there is no normal.
