I go to my "bible" for every little question especially do's and dont's when it comes to eating the right foods. My family and friends have given me advise on a few things but I usually get an answer like " oh I ate that when I was pregnant and I was fine". Hmmm I think I will go with my own choices. Ask your Dr. or nurse to give you a list of the "right" foods to eat at your next visit it should help ease your mind !

Let me warn you about chilli! I had a big bowl of chilli last week and had terrible chest/stomach pains for hours afterwards. So the next day I looked it up and I read that you shouldn't eat large amounts of acidy food and you're not supposed to lie down on your back afterwards. Well, that's exactly what I did. Ate a huge bowl of chilli and laid down on the couch afterwards. My suggestion is you can eat it but not too much. If you do start to get the pains like I had, lay on your side. That seemed to help me.

A mother should eat healthy food while she is pregnancy. This would help in the development of her baby.

We are TTC, and I've read quite a bit on what mommys should be eating...a lot of it has to do with what you like, or if you're feeling ill, what you can actually stomach. Fluids are essential. Folic acid is important (orange juice, greens and of course your prenatal vitamin), as are both dairy and protein products. Recently, someone told me that you should have at least one serving per day of a "full-fat" dairy product (whole milk, regular yogurt, ice cream, etc.) And finally, iron and carbohydrates are important for builing up baby's amino acids, etc. My doctor told me that you shouldn't try to eat things that you HATE (in my case, peanut butter and cheese) just for baby's sake - you can get the vitamins, minerals and other necessary nutrients from other sources. GOOD LUCK!
