I am wondering how many you of mothers out there tested before your period was due...and was it accurate?

Did you get a negative early and end up being pregnant anyway? How early did you test?

I am curious, hoping to get a good pole of people.

I have done both; waiting until the day I missed my cycle and tested early. Only one pregnancy did I test early and it show up. I think it was three or four days before my cycle was due. The other times I was pregnant, I tested after my missed cycle.

I am now on 9DPO and am wondering...

I tested 3 days early with my first pregnancy and got a faint positive and I tested almost a full week early with this pregnancy and got a faint positive again. I even did the blood test the day I did the first pregnancy test (long story...leaky boobs and ob thinking I had thyroid disease, me trying to get prenant and wishful thinking) and the blood test came back "indeterminative." I found out 5 days later that I had 3 VERY positive tests. I think testing early makes you doubt the results though...at least it did with me.

I have not tested early. With my first I tested 4 days after I missed my period because we weren't technically trying. With this one I tested the day I expected my period because I didn't want to get a false reading. I think Angel is right, testing early makes you doubt the results.

I tested too early and it came back negative, but I really was. My period was due NOV 12, I tested on the 13 and it was negative. On Nov 19 it was positive. If my calculations are correct I am 5weeks and 2days. I never happened like this with my last two pregnancies!

I'm kinda new to the boards and wanted some opinions...

I went off the pill July 1st and since then I've haven't had regular periods except that last 2 months I got it on the 15th of the month. I figure that my Nov period would come on the 15th and it hasn't. I've had some cramping but no period. Now my lower back and boobs are killing me. I took 2 pregnancy tests and both are negative. Is it possible to be pregnant and get negative home pregnancy tests? How long should I wait to contact my Dr? Could I be pregnant or am I just imagining it and maybe my cycle is still messed up from coming off birth control.
Thanks for an advice you can give.

I tested 3 days before my missed period with the Clearblue Digital readout at 7 pm in the evening and got a positive. When I went to MD 3 days later (they use the line tests) they could barely see the line. I am 4 wks and 3 days along.

For my first pregnancy I tested after I missed my period. It came up positive right away. My second one came after my first which ended so I didn't have a period, but I tested anyway and it came up all sorts of positive as well.

To hp108: I wouldn't stress about what the results might be. If you are worried taht you might be pregnant then go to your doctor and get tested there, if you have to request a blood test to be sure. At the least talk to your doc about what may be causing your back pain and let him/her know that your period still hasn't stablized.
