Hi all! I'm new to this board, but we've been ttc for a while now. I am 44, and was on birth control pills for 8 years, until a year and a half ago. I have been to a R.E., who says I'm in good reproductive shape for my age, and have no medical issues. DH checks out fine, too. But, as we know, a 44 year old egg isn't a 25 year old egg. Sigh... We've tried several IUI's, to no avail. I tried 2 cycles of clomid, which only prolonged my ovulation and caused lots of side effects, and 3 or 4 rounds of Femara, which worked well, but obviously didn't result in pregnancy. I tried one round of gonal-f, which cost a bloody fortune, and it was the only cycle where I didn't ovulate! Grrr! I still O every month on my own, (monitored by U/S, so I know). My insurance doesn't cover IVF, and I'm ready to move on to a donor egg. The problem: it's prohibitively expensive. Does anyone know of a true egg donor program, where women donate their extra frozen eggs to couples wishing to conceive? I am so sad, and want to experience pregnancy, and start our family already. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
