We had our little girl not long ago and I am still breastfeeding for the majority of the time. She is now receiving formula a few times a day however. We are wanting to conceive again fairly soon so she will have a sibling close in age. I have heard that this is harder to do while breastfeeding but I am not willing to give this up. Any advice or tips to help us concieve without giving up on breastfeeding?

How old is your daughter? Most doctor will recommend you wait at least a year before getting pregnant again. Getting pregnant earlier than that doesn't give your body the full amount of time to recover, especially if you're breastfeeding, and makes it more likely to go into preterm labor.

If you really are wanting to get pregnant soon it should be fairly easy. Breastfeeding can be its own form of birth control but only under certain circumstances. Since you're daughter is no longer exclusively breastfed it will be easier to conceive.

You'll just need to know when you're ovulating. The best way to tell if you're ovulating and then have sex at the right time is to get one of those watches. You wear it at night and it measures body temperature and a couple other things. They make little pee sticks that can tell you when you're ovulating or you can use your basal body temperature to tell. Those methods work well but can sometimes only be measured after an egg has been released. By that point your body has already started changing and the cervical mucous starts to thicken and that makes it harder for sperm to get through. The watch will tell you before an egg is released so you have a better chance of conceiving.

You can certainly get pregnant while breast feeding! And no additives is somewhat correct on waiting.... each individual is different, however one thing is the same pregnancy is hard on your body and having them too close can be really hard... my husband and I wanted to get pregnant when my daughter was just 6 months old. I went to the doctor and he said things seemed healthy enough for us to start trying, so it might be a good idea to talk with a doctor oh and Sounds gross but the most accurate way to find out when your ovulating is by monitoring the changes in mucus lol
