My husband lost 13lbs. in 2 weeks by calorie counting and eating only 1700 a day.

It's kind of tedious keeping track of your intake but it's great because you can eat whatever you want and you don't have to buy any special foods. Want a brownie for breakfast? Great! Just eat a salad for lunch. As long as you stay in your calorie range you're golden! And it encourages you to eat healthy because veggies and lean meats are lower calories and more filling. You can indulge and be hungry, or eat right and be full, you pick. Also, you can still eat out if you check the nutrition guide at the restaurant. But I'll warn you, for the first few weeks, you WILL be hungry! Make sure you buy some celery!

P.S. Another great thing, is that when you exercise you can increase your calories for that day (in moderation of course).

DO NOT STOP EATING!!! That is one of the worst things that you can do to lose, weight. As a part time nutritionalist, you should be eating small portions and 3 times a day and 2 to 3 snacks a day. This basically equates to eating every 2 to 3 hours. If you can do this and also sneak in a walk with you child every day then you will maintain a healthy weight. I have spreadsheets for all of these that I can send if needed, just let me know.

Other than your weight loss, did you consider how this might hurt your husbands feelings/ego. It's as if you suggested he is not providing enough money to feed you. In these tough times (economic, as well as small kids in the house), it is important not to joke about the things that are important to us or our spouses. Time out to you!
