I was just curious how long the post-partum bleeding is supposed to be?

Everything I read online said 3-5 weeks.
Then with my first 2 it was 3 weeks....BUT
I have been at least spotting for 7 weeks now. It dwindled down to just barely brown spotting then today its back to more than dripping bright red!!! The real twist is I am exclusively breastfeeding and should not have ANY bleeding since week 3. Even my doctor last week at my check up was surprised and had no advice to offer. So everything looked good from my checkup. I had a csection and healed great, just a little tender there now. So what the heck is going on. OH and no sex so its not a miscarriage or anything like that! Im so lost and very very tired of bleeding.

I bled for the entire 6 weeks with my first one and finally stopped bleeding the day of my 6 week check-up. I had one day inbetween that and when I started my period, which lasted almost 10 days after that (I was breast feeding too) after that it started to go back to normal, but every period I bled for at least a week at a time.

My second one I only bled for 3 weeks and didn't get my period for 6 months (I was also breast feeding) and everything was back to normal after that.

I'm hoping my 3rd will be more like my second. I've just come to realize that every time is different.

I bled for almost a full 6 weeks after giving birth, and it would seem like it was going to stop and then come back. I also exclusively breastfed. I worried too, because the books I read said you should stop bleeding after a week! It shouldn't be too much longer, hang in there!

I had heavy bleeding for two weeks, regular period bleeding for two more weeks, and then started my period a week and a half later.
Everyone is different, I wouldn't be too concerned yet. If you're worried about, just ask your dr, they'll know if there is a problem.

I am pretty sure that I did regular bleeding-very light and spotty for 6 weeks, and now I think I started my period. That was on friday. I normall have it for a week, so if after this weekend its still going I will call back. My hubby is getting antsy-haha-im tired of it too...

My first pregnancy I bleed for more than 10 weeks. I remember thinking, "Well, so much for not having my period for 9 months! I definatly made up for it!" I had excessive bleeding after labor, however, and when I first started my period as a teen it was also excessive.
