Thread: Sex of the baby

    Question Sex of the baby

I am pregnant for the first time (13 weeks, and 3 days). I was curious to know when everyone else found out the sex of their baby? So many people are telling me, oh they can find out right now. But then the other percentage is saying at the end of 5 months. I know its more like an educated guess (Im sure some of you were told "girl" only to find out after birth that baby boy's pee-pee was playing a game of hide and seek) but the doctor's educated guess is better than mine. SO when did you all find out? Could some of you "tell" even before you heard doctor's answer? Are any of those myths true? (You are carrying this way, so its gonna be a girl.)

the baby's usually to small to tell for sure at that stage. you probably won't find out till they do the 20 week anatomical survey. I'm 22 weeks and I just found out yesterday that we're having a boy. he certainly wasn't playing hide and seek. he was spread out in there letting it all hang out like his dad spreads out on the couch. I was surprised he didn't have his hand down there. for me none of the myths were true. all the gender quizes, chinese calanders, and my fiance, etc. told me I was having a girl.

I found out at 20 weeks with this pregnancy that I'm having my 3rd boy. I've carried high with all three pregnancies, but toward that last month, they drop down lower. I can't remember which way is which, high/girl low/boy. I did the pencil test, where you dangle a pencil from a needle and thread over your wrist and if it swings a certain way it's a boy or a girl. It said I was going to have 4 kids, and I think it said this 3rd one was supposed to be a girl, so don't hold any stock in it. But they are fun to do!

When I was 20 weeks, my baby crossed his legs really tight and we couldn't see. The doctor told me that we would have to wait until he was born to find out, but I raised heck until I got another one. It's a Boy.

At 20 weeks they tried to tell me what I was having but he had his legs closed and had his butt faced toward us. So they scheduled another appointment and said they think it's a boy.

Thanks everyone! I had my first ultrasound done about two weeks ago, and I could barely tell where the baby was, let alone if it was a boy or girl! I have one more question, although it is unrelated to pregnancy: How do I change the fact that when I try to change my profile, it thinks I am 13 or under? It tells me to put my parents email address. Im not 13! If anyone knows, I would love to be filled in!

I'm only 15w and 4 days, but as I was having a problem this weekend (I had a hemorrhage between my placenta and the uterine wall) I went for another Sonogram today to make sure all is well (it is thank God). I was able to find out the sex of the baby. While I'm not rushing out to register for all boy stuff just yet (I'm going to wait for the 20 week sono just to be sure) I will focus on boy names for now!

Im glad everything turned out okay, SleepEater! That must have been scary. Congrats on finding out that you are having a boy! That is so exciting! Alot of people keep telling me I am having a boy, although I dont care which it is as long as its healthy.

jwills, you must have filled in the year of your birth wrong. I did that with a hotmail account and got so frustrated trying to fix it that I just started over with a new login address and everything. maybe if you notify the admin. they could help?

i found out this time around at 20 weeks. With my son it was at about 18 and a half weeks and with my other daughter it was 20 weeks as well. It is when the distinction between boy and girl is starting to be easier to tell. They were right with my first two. And I am almost 100% sure they are right this time to. i know there are people that get that surprise but i think it is getting less and less now with all the technology. I hope this helps. Cant wait to hear what you are having : ]
