We are a Christian family hoping to adopt a baby/toddler of either gender and of any race. Two of our children came to us via adoption and two were conceived naturally (back when I was able to concieve). There is no difference in the love we have for our kids....they are each so unique and treasured. We are truly blessed! We still have room in our hearts and home for another child and all of us feel that this is the right time to adopt.
We have a good deal of experience with special needs and would definately consider a child with special needs as well. We usually get the "well, have you thought about adopting through your local DSS?" and the answer is "Of course!" We continue to try to adopt through this route as well. Anyway, if anyone out there knows of a situation please email me at AdoptionHopes@aol.com
We have all our paperwork ready and are working with a wonderful attorney.
Thanks a bunch,
Hey Julie! My name is Maria. My husband and I have also adopted two children and birthed two children! How awesome to meet someone else is a similiar family set up! Actually the order is; birthed, adopted, adopted, and birthed. Both of our children came home from Guatemala, a year apart (not biologically related). I always knew that I wanted to build my family through adoption! Good luck in finding your new little blessing!
Hey Maria! Thanks for posting. That's funny how we both have 2 and 2! Our order is 2 bio and then 2 adopted. Our youngest is from China and our 2nd youngest was adopted here in the USA. They are only 6 months apart (5 and 6 yrs old). We had always wanted to adopt before we knew we could have kids...and then once we could no longer have them it took us a few years until suddenly we both felt it was time to adopt. We just "knew" and that's what's happened again this time around, too. So, hopefully something will happen soon!
Nice to meet you,
my mother and my aunt in-law have adopted babies my aunt actually has 4 adopted kids... and shes just filled with joy... my mom adopted a DSS child... and shes been the love and joy of the family... if you have room in your heart...(and you do ) GO FOR IT!! its just an addition to have more love and joy in your heart... im thinkin of adopting to when me and my hubby settle down we just had a kid... and were still super young... im so open to that idea... hope this help!
Hi Julie! We have adopted 4! Our oldest just turned 4! They are all from here in the USA. Our 3 girls are bio first cousins! Their birthmoms are all sisters! It is pretty neat! We went through an agency each time. We wanted to do international but I was too young, in my state you had to be 25, and when we adopted our oldest I was 23!
Have you contacted your local Health and Welfare? They have an AWESOME Foster/Adopt program! There is also the Safe Haven Babies that you can also inquire about at your local H&W, states differ but those are the little ones that are surrendered at a hospital or church! Both of those options are free.

When I was in High school a teenage girl came to live with a family at our church, she was pregnant and got to have her baby and give him up for adoption to that family. She was able to know where her child was and the family he grew up in.
I am not sure how this was arranged but I would image that if you posed this scenario to your church, then maybe by word of mouth someone would know someone etc... helping more than just yourselves in the long run.
Of course there are some things that go along with this and you could decide for yourself on living arrangements be at your home or with another family at your church, either way their is a lot involved in any adoption process and I think it is important to help others however we can.
That is very awesome of all you adopting parents! I hope to adopt one day and have a child of my own right now (almost 2 months)...I know I am going to have questions about the process and if there are any parenting issues that I am nervous of facing, so hopefully you all will look to the forum again and help me out
Hi. I don't know if it will help but this is the story of our adoptive child, which was nothing short of a miracle. I'm not sure if it will help, but here it is. Thinking of you!
My husband and I are currently trying to adopt my cousins to kids. They are 2 and 11 months. I have been looking for a forum or something with other parents of adopted children. I have a lot of questions about what things might come up later in life.
We didn't start out wanting to adopt. It kinda come up at my grandmas. Where the kids are being fostered at currently. That they where going to be put up for adoption. I went home that night and couldn't stop thinking about the 2 kids leaving the family. So the next day I asked my husband what he though of adopting them. He was and still is a little worried about how his family will handle adopted children. My family has a lot of adopted children so they where all happy accept the idea.
