I haven't turned off my baby monitor since I got it with my first son over 4 1/2 years ago. I love it. My second thing I couldn't do without is a pooh-bear doll that lights up and plays 10 songs in a row. I read the boys a story, tuck them in, turn on pooh-bear and turn out the lights.

2) an SLR camera (tremendously better photos of the kids than we got with our point and shoot camera)

my friend told me about it, and ebeanstalk is the BEST. it's the only place i go for my toys for my 1 year old and all my baby gifts. all the toys are selected by child experts. all are matched to a childs development. all are lead-tested. and its SOOO easy.

I have three daughters, 10 years, 5 years and 7 months and I absolutely could not live without my wraps from www.gypsymama.com. I currently have one stretch and two breeze wraps that I alternate between. They are all so stylish and versitale. My favorite of all is the water wrap. My baby loves taking showers with me and I know she's secure.

I have a 10-month old who sleeps pretty well in his crib, which is the only place he's really slept. However, we traveled out of town and brought the pack n play for him to sleep in. Under no circumstances would he sleep in it! My husband and I were LITERALLY up all night!

In about 3 months, we are renting a cottage for one week. We're nervous about how and where he will sleep. Are there any other "portable" options out there, other than a pack n play, that we could bring?

He's already pulling himself up, climbing, etc. so we need to have something with high enough sides to prevent him from climbing out and something that is longer than a pack n play...my son is only 3" away from touching the ends (head to toe) and 3 months from now, he will probably be too long to fit in a pack n play anyway.

I welcome any suggestions...either for other sleeping gear or on how to get him to sleep in the pack n play. Thanks!!!

Rebecca40,I know it won't help with the "climbing out" but have you tried putting the crib matress in the pack'n'play? It may be easier for him to get comfortable as the mattress in the PNP aren't very comfy,and you may be able to find a way for him not to be able to get out (e.i putting it between a wall and tall dresserthe long way and most PNP's the shorter side is higher anyway?)I have a "euro"graco one and my son sleeps at my mom's once a week in it(I know i'm luckyand that's what we did and it works!he is going to be a year in may and is also very active(walking since 10m)and he falls in the 90th percentile in height so I can understand where you are coming from!I hope this helps!

Another mother of twins here and these items have helped immensely!

1. Bouncy seats
2. Boppy Pillows
3. Exersaucers
4. A double stroller that holds "both" infant carriers
5. "On Demand" they love Hi-5 (and its at my fingertips)

A very involved husband also works, but since we can't buy them, I couldn't list it as one of my five.
