Smile Journal for your kids started?

I've been thinking lately about starting a journal for my son. Something to just write things down in that he does/says that is cute, funny, cracks us up, his little pet peeves and quirks, things like that. He's 4 now and really starting to develope his own personality and says the cutest things, I'm afraid if I don't write them down I'll forget and thought that it might be something to start as a keepsake for him when he gets older...you know to read over and say "did I really say/do that"?

Does any have one of these started, if so how's it going? Anything think it's a good idea? My concern is finding the time to keep up with it.

I think its a very cute idea. I'm religious about keeping up with my son's record book.
Your idea is something I'll have to definitely consider when he's a little older.

Wonderful idea. I too record this in each childs baby book. But I have this little section in my brain that purposely stores "mommy memories." Like I said, I can't remember where I parked my car half the time, but I reserve these special important things right in the noggin. My daughter loves hearing goofy stories about herself.

    FYI you probably won't forget.

I hope I won't forget. My minds like mush these days (LOL). I filled out his baby book all the time but now that he's older I want to keep these memories as well. I ordered a Preschool - 12 grade memories keepsake book for him so I hope that will help me keep up on things.

Yes, where did you find that? I would be very interested in one myself. I keep scrapbooks for my kids already. Pictures and journaling, major events, etc. It's a lot to keep up on though.
Life is an adventure, I share every day with my two beautiful children.

I do try to do this. I tried to start while i was pregnant, writing only every few weeks or so, after dr's appts or whatever. I figured this was my first baby, and hopefully we will have another and then I might want to look back and remember "what did they do at my 16 week check-up"?
Anyway, so then I continued it after dd was born. I don't write as often as I would like. Still probably only once a month. Unless she does something new (8 months old), then I will try to write a quick 2 lines that day.
I just type it into a word document with the date and her approx. age.
Then, hopefully, around her first birthday I will compile it all, and start the nexts years writing.
Ideally I'd like to write her a letter on (around) her first birthday too, that she would read when she was older, summarizing her first year, how I felt about things etc.
These are things i HOPE to do, but i realize that it might not happen, especially when you get more then 1 kid!
Still i have the best of intentions!
    We love those baby smiles!

I made a scrapbook of my pregnancy and my sons 1st year. I thought about doing a little journal to keep up with what he was saying and liking at the time but by the time I thought about it he was already like 14 or 15 months and I know I couldnt go back and remember all that stuff. I really wish I would have though.

Walmart has babys first calendars for $5 in the calendar section. They have a section for monthly photographs and to write New things I can do this month ... and a space for Favorite Memories ..... each month. I plan on cutting these two things out for each month and pasteing them into her baby scrapbook. I also record her height and weight each month in the space given for that.
