    Default Getting baby to nap

My baby gets cranky when it's his naptime, but he's too curious about everything around him to settle down for his nap. Soemtimes I can't even get him to focus enough to eat! Is there anything I can do? Is a passing phase?

My son gets that way sometimes too, especially if we're in the living room.

I take him into his room where its all quiet and rock him in the rocker. Behind the chair is just a wall, so that's all he can see. Nothing to look at, nothing to listen to, seems to help.

I agree, try to settle him in the same place every nap time and limit distractions as much as possible like tvs on, phones ringing, and other people in the room.

I try to do that. I have a rocking chair in his room, and I try to make it quiet, but he'll wriggle around and even bend himself over backwards (literally) to play with the bumper ties on his crib or try to get on the floor to go crawl and play. (It also gets frustrating when I'm carrying him and he's trying to throw himself at anything we pass that might be mildly interesting to investigate.)

Just keep trying. Hold him tight - not tight enough to hurt, but tight enough he can't flop. Try putting a blanket over his head - just a light one, loosely so there's plenty of air flow, but so he can't see anything but the blanket.
