    Question Fire Drill

Has anyone organized a fire drill or evacuation plan for their house? I need some tips on how to teach a 4 year old what to do and how to get it organized. We have one of those smoke detectors with a voice to wake her instead of a siren. We also have a front door that doesn't open unless you unlock it with a key that is kept out of reach of children. The door to the garage is always unlocked, but the button to open the garage is out of the 4 year old's reach.

Thanks Irishmom - I will check out the websites. She has actually toured a fire station and they've had the fire department talk to them at school. I just have a hard time with the at home part - I am not good at teaching so I need resources! I know the door issue is going to be a hard one to get around so I may need to make some modifications in the home.

Oh what a great idea to bring to my attention, Kaylady. I think I should work on a firedrill with my girl. We have had discussions on calling 911 and what to do in an emergency.

    Thanks Irish for the websites.
