In light of the MMR debate up top, I found this article...what do you think?

I liked the premise of the article and hope that pediatricians who read it take it to heart. I'm due next month, and while I plan to vaccinate my baby, I still am going to ask questions and expect my pediatrician to give me thoughtful, well-reasoned answers. I don't think I'm a doctor...and I'm certainly not a hysterical first time mother reading horror stories on the internet and freaking out about them...I'm just a mom who is trying to find out all of the information before making the best and most well-informed choice for my child. If my pediatrician doesn't understand that...well, I'll be finding a new pediatrician!

Being a "vaccine defender" I really do try to not be sarcastic and rude when people question. I too question all the vaccines before I give them, my ultimate decision usually rests on the fact that I didn't go to medical school and I've never treated a child, my doctor has so I trust what they say. While I think its great that we question, we should always know, I still think we should trust the medical providers that we bring our children too - If we don't trust them why are we bringing them our children? If I could do a better job myself why take them to the doc at all?

Lismom I'm surprised that you sited this article. Your reasons for not vaccinating were well researched and well articulated. I found this article sarcastic and didn't really teach anything other than the authors ability to use sarcasm to make a point about "vaccine defenders" use of sarcasm to defend vaccines. Don't be offended but I found this article kind of annoying.
