    Cool 20 Min Power Naps

I have an 8 month old and when we put her down for her naps, she only sleeps for 20 minutes. She only takes about 3-4 naps a day. She's been doing this since she was 3 months. Is there any suggestion on how to get her to take longer naps?

I have a ten month old that does the same thing. If you look through the other posts I've been writing about him giving them up all together. Does your baby fall asleep on his own? Or do you rock him to sleep? Over the past week we've been trying to "sleep train" him by making him fall asleep for naps by himself (he has been doing this at night for about 4 months). We're hoping it will help with nap time. Yesterday was the first time in 8 days that he fell asleep on his own....only for 18 minutes in the morning, but then 45 in the afternoon. And hopefully it will only get better.

Hi! When my son was doing that (taking 20 min naps 3/4 times per day) I started trying to keep him up a bit longer at the first of the day.For Example he gets up at 7:30 and started to get tired around 9:30 I would keep him up playing or just ignoring the tired behavior until almost ten.It really helped for my son,he started at 45 mins and now at almost 11 months he usually sleeps an hour and a half to two hours,Although he only takes one good nap on a more regular basis.Sometimes, like right now he's cutting all four of the top teeth and is taking 2 naps.Good Luck!, but by the sounds of thing I really think it's just a phase they go through!
