I am relieved to know that my husband and I are not the only parents of an infant and already considering conception again! We have two boys, a 6 month old and an 8 year old but we would love to try for a girl. There is 7 1/2 years between our boys and we do not want to wait that long again! My thought is that our boys are at such different points in their lives that they will rarely have commom interest and so we would like to concieve once more so that the youngest two will be much closer in age. I would also like to be finished having children by the time I am 30 and that is only 2 1/2 years away! Good luck to all

hi, just thought i would give you my opinion, from when i was growing up. my brother and i were only 13 months apart, and i wouldn't have had it any other way. of course, we fought like crazy (and probably drove our parents nuts in the process) and over EVERYTHING, but we were also always together, always playing. we lived in an area where there weren't a lot of other kids, so we were ready made playmates. we have always had a very close bond that i don't think you get when siblings are separated a lot in age. we were able to share everything together because we always liked the same things at the same time, and most of the memories of my childhood include him. i would love to be able to have my kids close together so that they could have that same type of relationship that i got to enjoy.

Well, I'm in the same boat as the "posting-Mommy". I have a 12 month old (well, he'll be 12mos. in 3 days... OMG! Time flies when you're having fun!) and my husband and I have recently talked about conceiving #2.

My hubby is a twin, and also has a sister that's 5 years old and a sister that's 5 years younger. He and his brother are DEFINATELY, VERY close, and now that they're older, are also very close with their sisters. However, growing up it was just me and my sister (who are almost exactly 2 years apart) and we faught like cats and dogs - constantly!!!! (CLOTHES! COMPUTER! BOYS! CHORES! You name it, we faught about it!) and I don't really want that for my kids. ALTHOUGH, we have a son (and OBVIOUSLY have a 50/50 chance at having another boy) and would love them to be as close and have a relationship like my husband and his brother. I think that with two girls, after my experience with my sister, I would be more apprehensive... and if I was guarenteed to have another boy, I'd get pregnant tomorrow! LOL Funny how life experiences influence us so much......

Any suggestions? Is 22 months a good gap for #1 (who's a self-sufficient as possible at his age!) and #2?

    Default same boat

my DD is almost 6 months and DH and i have been discussing #2. I want to try right now he wants to wait a few months. the waiting isn't for age sparation its more for work conflicts. l want to be preggers again ASAP.

as far as the age separation my brothers and me are all less than 2 years from eachother (5 kids in 9 years) i am sure it was rough when we were young, but we eventually got to the point of all being old enough to do our own thing instead of there being a teen and a little kid at once.
