    Question Stretch Marks

Do they go away when you start losing weight. My belly looks like a deflated watermelon

My baby is 15 months old. I was at 206lbs when I had him and I'm down to 158. I am back to my weight before I was pregnant but these stretch marks are horrible!!!

    Talking augghhh.. Stretch Marks!!!!

    Hey,
Well I'm not sure if there is any magical potion that makes strecth marks go away, but I do know there are some products at any local pharmacy that help. However, I don't know from my own experience how well they work.
My baby is 5 months old. I'm Mexican and once we deliver it's in our belief to immediately use some type of girdle. It is said to help you reduce your "deflated watermelon" and reduce your stretch marks. I didn't believe it until i tried it my self. I'm not sure if it was the girdle or that I'm 23 but my stretch marks are going away quite fast, and my flabby stomach is reducing to how nice it was before. You should try some vitamin E, Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula, or a medela product for stretch marks. You can also try a girdle or some type of body shaper, it's a little uncomfortable at first but you'll get use to it, hopefully :-P
    Hope this helps.... Take Care!!

Whether you get them and how your body responds to them is completely genetic, there is no cream or product you can put on them that will make them disappear.

They DO fade over time. Instead of being bright red/purple, they become white, but it can literally take years. The best thing you can do is learn to live with them and try not to let them bother you. I got TERRIBLE stretch marks when I was only 15 years old due to a puberty growth spurt (I was terribly underweight and then bam, boobs, hips, growth all over). I have them on my breasts, hips, inner thighs, even the backs of my calves and upper arms. You just learn to live with them.

I'm the mother of a 5 month old boy and I'm hoping that my stretch marks will fade. I have very light ones on my belly but very dark ones on my side. Over the last month I have been using 100% pure vitamin E oil that I got from CVS for $8.99 along with Bio Oil. I can say that I have noticed the stretch marks on my side lighten up. I guess you have to use these produts for a long amount of time to see better results. Hope this helps

The best remedy for stretch marks is.....learning to DEAL WITH THEM!! Mine have faded off my stomach almost completely, but for some reason I have them on the back of my KNEES and they are still red!!!I have discovered though that it doesn't mean you are fat, or were fat, or anything like it. Almost everyone has stretch marks. They come from lots of things; puberty and growth, weight gain, weight loss, pregnancy expansion..... Just accept them because they aren't a big deal. They are just scars!

I think it is comforting to know that other women out there have learned to live with their new mom bodies. The Entertainment industry does not help a bit with movie stars popping babies and looking better than before, and most importantly they make it appear as if they look that way effortlessly.

    Smile natural tattoo

I love my stretchmarks... they are all over my tummy and sides and a few on my inner thighs.... I did EVERYTHING to avoid getting them, but I also tried to get pregnant for 3 years and know this comes with it I guess you can think of it as a natural tattoo... but without all the questions and regret! But US Weekly page 85 of the April 6th issue said, "the excimer laser triggers stretch marks to produce pigment, masking grooves cost is high $200-$400 per session with 10 sessions needed and lasts for 2 years or to try an at home retinol cream."
