I too am having great difficulty obtaining my subscription and free gift of a bag! I have emailed and no response---I have also tried the phone number posted and that number is not in service--Now I wondering if this was a scam to get my money up front and not send me anything.. in this day of social media, you would think a company would be more responsible with money, free gifts and getting people's magazines to them in a timely manner! I would hope to hear from someone in response to this, and what are my next steps...as email doesn't work and the phone number is not in service...is the magazine still available or have they gone bankrupt?
very frustrated!
the 1-800-234-0847 number does not work--I live in Canada and it says the number is not in service? any other way to contact--emailed twice and no reply???very furstrated.
I also was charged for the motherhood issues, but I just called and they refunded it.
I was also having issues with the new subscription. I called and they said it would start with the June subscription. Just seems odd to me that if I paid in April that they would wait until the June Subscription to send it. All the other magazines I have had sent me the most recent one right away. I would have gotten April, then a week later May's. Maybe they don't have extra's lying around. We will see if actually comes in the next 2 weeks.
I was also signed up at Motherhood. This should be against the law. The fact is, they do not tell you that you are being signed up, they do not tell you you have to cancel it. And when you finally figure out that it happened, there is no one to take responsibility. Parenting says, well THEY should have told you... and the people at the store just blame it on the person who checked you out. But it happens over and over and over. I specifically told them I did not want the magazine, not for a trial, not for any length of time. It came anyway, I called and asked for it to be cancelled, they said it was... then I continued to receive it for a YEAR. I have a brand new baby, I dont want to be calling this magazine over and over for a cancellation. It reminds me of the cassette clubs back in the 80's.
I would never have ordered this magazine anyway... the first ad was for McDonald's. Are you kidding me??
Same here, I was billed for 20 issues with purchase of an item at Motherhood Maternity, without my knowledge. Apparently Parenting Magazine thinks it's enough to state so on the receipt that you sign to pay for your Motherhood purchase - NOTHING was mentioned to me in the store about this. I kept receiving the magazine, not knowing where it was coming from. When I called, the response is simply "too bad, the offer was on the receipt that you signed". The representative told me that she gets dozens of calls a day about this. This is a terrible way to introduce potential subscribers to the magazine - I will never subscribe again. If Parenting cares about building trust with its subscriber base, they will stop this deceptive behavior.
I to have been scamed!! I orderd the 3 yr sub for 25$ and free tote bag, did not recieve anything but my bank statement saying they cashed my cheauque, guess I shold have listend to my husband when he said it sounded to good a deal and it was a scam!! tahnx for stealing from me!!! OH AND THE PHONE # still dosn't WORK!!!! SCAMERS!!!!
I think its really sad that your magazine isnt good enough on its own to get subscriptions. Instead you have to use the low life sales people at the store to trick people into sighning up for something they did not ask for. I was told they would send me one free issue, I agreed bc I have received other coupons and such in the mail from them. At no point did they tell me I would be charged for a full subscription. Now I have not even received an issue, just a bill. Why dont you write a better magazine that people will want to order on there own. At this point if I did have any interest in your magazine it is gone and I will be sure to tell others about the horrible experience I have had with parenting magazine.
