    Question Fertility Treatment Side Effects

I have heard about the mood swings associated with Clomid and other fertility meds. I feel like I am already a "crazy person" sometimes just from the emotional rollercoaster this puts us all through. Is anyone who has taken fertility drugs (clomid, follistim, etc) willing to share what side effects they experienced? I am thinking about starting this step, and want to be prepared for what to expect.

I'm an infertility treatment veteran for recurrent miscarriage. I tried clomid after 2nd miscarriage, miscarried again. After surgery on uterus tried clomid 8 months with no success(this was 12 years ago.) I became very depressed on drug. Would leave my office everyday at noon to cry and then return. Terrific mood swings. I would feel better each cycle a few days after I stopped drug. Some women get pregnant and feel ok. My advice, keep journal for side effects and notify dr. if depressed. Happy ending - have 2 beautiful, active children by adoption who are bugging me as I type this.

I didn't notice too many side effects other than a slighly "swollen" feeling around my midsection. I was on Gonal F, menopur, lupron and bravelle. To me, I felt a little overwhelmed trying to keep track of everything and making sure I injected the right medication at the right time. However, looking back, it was worth all the trouble. Hang in there and try to stay positive!

    Question Plezz reply about Clomid

    Kihei04,

I have started my Clomid now today is my 3rd day and I'm scheduled for an ultra sound on 5/13. My husband and I have a 2 1/2 yr. old but can't seem to get pregnant with #2.
My question I'm really concerned and WORRIED that I will end up with more than one child if I get pregnant while on Clomid. When you were on it did you have more than one? I just would like to talk to someone who has already been through this ordeal.

    Please email or text me

    Thanks,

Clomid has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials, with many women having been evaluated.
In these studies, side effects occurring in the group of people taking the drug were documented and compared to the side effects that occurred in a similar group of people not taking the medicine. This way, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.

I found this info here http://pregnancy.emedtv.com/clomid/c...e-effects.html

    Unhappy

I also did not feel to many physical side effects of the Clomid. However, I did feel extremely depressed. I also had constant mood swings and my emotions were all over the place!

The ones I've read about include abdominal discomfort, hot flashes and mood swings. Other side effect ... that TTC shouldnt be worried about is that it can lead to multiple ovulation ~5% of the cases.
I've heard of Clomifene being used as a steroid for muscle building .. .

A recent study published in the Human Reproduction journal shows clomid could do severe harm to your baby. If your baby was born with severe birth defects then you may want to read the following on clomid and how you can get legal help which sees the makers of the drug be brought to justice. Childbirth is meant to be the happiest time for parents. http://www.newsinferno.com/health-co...-investigated/
