    Unhappy Feeling really depressed!

I know this has nothing to do with parenting or being a new mom. But I need some women to talk to. I was just sexually assulted the other day and I need to know if anyone else has ever had to deal with this. It wasn't really really bad, but it definetly was wrong and made me feel horrible. I need help with my feelings before I lose it! Please help me deal with this!

Have you hought about getting counseling? That might help to deal with how your feeling. Know and understand that you did nothing to deserve that. Hang in there and speak to a professional who can help you.

That's a terrible thing to happen to anyone.

You were the victim of someone's unhealthy sexual desires. Of course, the details are not known to me but it's safe to say that the situation was beyond your control.

From a philosophical perspective, you should only feel regret or remorse over the events in your life that you, yourself, have control over.

The only thing you can do is to control the way you perceive life from this point on. Will you continue to be the victim? Or will you realize that your past should have no bearing over your future?

Your past is simply a learning experience. It will only control your future if you let it.

I suggest you address your emotional fears about this particular event in your life. Don't repress the anger, the humiliation, the sorry... let it out and talk to someone. The more you continue to address the situation, you begin to realize that, although it was a terrible thing, it was the past.

If you need someone to talk to, I'll be more than happy to help. The internet is extremely anonymous.

I worked for a rape and domestic violence center in college. So I at least kind of understand what you are going through. I would suggest finding a counselor. There are many rape crisis centers in the country, they can provide the counseling and perhaps the legal advice you need. We worked a lot with RAINN- they are very helpful and professional. Good luck!
