She was always very sick...but she was ALWAYS his mother. Even though the mothers at his Kindergarden thought I was his mother, I never really was. I was just acting the role, going through the motions of parenting. It was difficult!

I'm sorry marla but taking care of an infant is MUCH easier than dealing with a toddler. Any other moms want to elaborate on this?

I would, but I don't want to write a 20 page essay for Marla, I don't think she'd be able to understand. Though, speaking for two of my children, infancy and toddler years are gonna be difficult both ways due to health issues/etc.

After this whole thread I have a newfound respect for the teen moms who actually step up. I still believe that some teens should not be parents!

Marla- Thanks for the apology & people would side w/ you , but like I said in my original post to you back a few pages ago you came off VERY abrasive & rude! There is huge difference in speaking your mind/opinion verses being well.... like you !!! I don't want to be mean or call you any names , but I feel like I had to defend the poor teen mom's on here that you were attacking!! You come off VERY cocky & act like everyone is below you & has no education! However I hope you know I really do like you & appreciate your opinion , just try to bring it to the table in a nicer manner no matter if you agree or disagree!!!

Also if you look back at my other posts we do agree that teens TRYING to get pregnant are STUPID!! Where we disagree is that I admire those who step it up like all the moms on this thread. Just like someone else said the fact they are on this website shows how mature they are being by looking for help!!

I'm glad that you opened your mind and see that what you did for your brother was not much different than the situations some teen moms find themselves in.

Just for the record marla, I have always liked you and still do. I think that if you continue to be open to a change of heart or opinion you will be an amazing mother.

MamaMeeya, you keep talking about abortion...a fetus is not a baby! A fetus is not a baby, I can say it as many times as I want but you'll still think that a fetus is a baby and aborting that fetus is wrong. Why would be having a child change any of my views? I do not need to be young. I was young. I was a teenager but I am not anymore. I haven't been for 3 years. I'm sure that even on my worst day I'd be 100x better than you at being a parent. And I know that to be true.

marla, that's an absolutely terrible thing to say to any mother. there are plenty of different parenting styles, but that does not make any one better than any other. to say you'd automatically be better than someone else is just plain egotistical. don't tear others down just to make yourself feel superior.
and as far as the teenage mother thing, my aunt was a teenage mother and her son is now a senator. so tell me how terrible she was please. because bad mothers, normally, don't produce sucessful children.
i myself am a teenage mother, but only barely. my daughter was born when i was nineteen, only a few years younger than yourself. if you were a mother, i would actually try to debate you on this. but as it is, you are not a mother, and thus have NO right to degrade ANY person on this thread. you have no idea how hard it is to be a mother, no matter what age you are. so you should stop insulting these girls and find a topic you actually are prepared for. with experience. it's only insulting to yourself to debate a topic you have no experience or actual knowledge of.
