Coincidence?

My half sister is a twin
and she ended up having two sets of twins.

I recently found out Im having twins.
We have different mothers
but the same father with no history of twins
think its a coincidence?

It depends on the kind of twins. Fraternal twins do run in families. Identicals are just chance... most of the time. I have seen families where both kinds of twins are all over the family tree. Although the old wives tale about skipping a generation was true in my case- my dad's a twin (fraternal) and I have twins (identical)

There are 18 sets of twins in my family and 3 more due in 2009.
16 of which are on my maternal side of the family. 2 are on my husbands mother's side.

Twins usually are based on the maternal side of the family. Fraternal twins are "passed down" and Identical twins are a miracle from God.

With so many twins in my family, i'm scared i'll get pregnant with another set!
