Hi! I had my IUD for over 3 years. It was removed in March of 10' and I conceived in October 10'. We're now 20 weeks along with a healthy baby girl! My periods never did regulate after the removal. We thought I may have to go on the pill to regulate my cycle, but we ended up pregnant, even with periods every 2 weeks!

I had the Mirena for 3 years, and was conceived the 3rd month of trying once I had it removed.

    Good luck!

I had the copper iud for 3 years. I recently had it removed October 2nd and I am pregnant already. Around 5 weeks.. i read so many stories that it scared me into thinking I would never get pregnant.. I do agree that the mirena may cause a delay with conception because of the hormones but everyone is different. Good luck ladies!!

I had Mirena for about a year before having it remove to try for a son (I had two daughters previously). The doctor recommended waiting till after my second menstrual cycle to try to conceive but we didn't listen and I got pregnant a month later with twins. Turns out that's the reason why the doctor recommended waiting the two cycles. You can conceive as soon as the IUD is removed but your body may produce extra eggs the first month or two after removal. Good luck!
