My husband's aunt and uncle have been married for years and have not been able to get pregnant. They have spend thousands of dollars on trying to conceive and are unable to. Recently, my husband's teenage stepsister became pregnant. His uncle asked her if she was thinking about adoption. When I heard about that, I knew what I wanted to do. I feel very strongly about this. I want to do this for them. But I'm scared that I can't. Before we make this offer, I want to make sure that we can handle this emotionally. Would anyone who has had and given up a biological child specifically for another couple be willing to share their story?

We had no problems getting pregnant ourselves, but we have two children now, and we have agreed that we do not want any more. We have even been looking into my husband getting a vasectomy. We know that we do not want more children, but I'm worried that if we did get pregnant, even with the sole purpose being to give this child to someone else, that I would change my mind. I'm not sure how/if I would be able to remain emotionally distant from the child that I would conceive, and not bond with it as my niece/nephew, but as my own son/daughter while pregnant.
