    Default Failure to Imbibe... Autism?

Hello! My name is Amanda. I have a little girl who is 8 months old. She was born a little early but healthy. She was fine until she turned 4 months old. She became very sick with RSV to the point where he airways had started to shut down. Well, she was given a steroid and medicine and that cleared up rather quickly after that. She looked healthy, acted fine, except for the fact that she wouldn't eat. I took her to her ped and was told to give it a few days. She may still be recovering. Well, days turned into weeks and weeks into months. She still wouldn't eat. She's currently on a feeding tube, and getting a Gbutton put in within a few weeks. Throughout this entire process I told the doctors that there was something wrong with her, but everyone kept telling me "its a virus, it'll pass" even though she tested negative for everything. Well, we stopped force feeding her, and she lost a considerable amount of weight. I brought her into her ped who had been out of the office for about 3 months and had just returned. She immediately admitted her to the hospital. I told her everything that had happened and she made she my daughter was taken care of and sent to a childrens hospital. At the childrens hospital she was diagnosed with a milk and soy protein allergy. The GI's "best guess" was the reason she wouldnt eat was bc she related food with pain. Well, its been months now and theres still no change. She'll drink a little bit by mouth and everything else is tube fed. She won't eat baby food. She needs the feeding tube to survive. SO, now they're sending her to a ped behavioral spec. for a consult. She's showing signs of eatly onset autism. I don't know anything about autism. I've done some reading, but it doesn't seem like my child. What am I missing?
