Question Kids jumping on the bed?

So, my husband and I have an argument on an almost daily basis. Every night I have a "dance party" with the kids. I have a 6 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. During the dance party, the kids dance and jump on the bed together, often quite actively. I think this is a great way for them to get out their excess energy. My husband thinks this is a bad accident waiting to happen. He thinks the kids are going to either bonk heads, or one of them will fall off the bed and crack their head on the night table. I agree that the kids could hurt themselves, but I am there supervising, and I think kids can hurt themselves doing almost anything. They enjoy it so much, I really don't see any reason to stop doing the nightly dance party. Am i wrong?

Your husband has a point. The jumping can really be dangerous. Just be sure you will always be ready to catch just in case someone falls off the bed.

My 6 yr old and 18 month old LOVE jumping on the bed! I totally agree that it's a great way to expel some energy and it's a ton of fun! My husband gets just as worried as yours.

Kids can and do get hurt doing just about anything, it happens. I say let them jump! I grew up jumping on my mom's big bed with my 3 siblings, and we cracked our skulls and fell off regularly. It happens, you'll be there or nearby to kiss boo boos, apply ice packs, etc. Let them be kids and have fun!

I think, I am totally agree with your husband point. During your dance party, accident may happen. So take care of your little baby boy and girl. It's good that your kids jumping on the bed during dancing but you should have to care of your kids.

Smile It's a great bonding time

I think it's a great idea and actually my husband worries a lot too that my four year old might get hurt but I made sure that there is nothing around the bed that can hurt her and our bed doesn't have any sharp edges. Even then I make sure that she is not standing close to the corner of the bed and then we just have fun. I love doing Zumba or sometimes just a silly YO Gabba Gabba dance but its a lot of fun and highlight of our day

When my daughter was 4, she flew off the bed face first into a window sill and gashed open her eye. After two years, the scar is faded, but she will always have a mark on her face.

Hi vlfrohloff , nice to hear you 'brave' mom I have a suggestion for you. You can get one Memory Foam Mattress to stop this, if you really want too! No bouncing on the memory foam beds. Hope this helps .
