My son just cant stop eating, I have had to hide the food so that he doesnt eat alot before that main meals of the day. What can I do?
He weighs about 110 pounds and we have been talking to doctors about what to do. Please help!!!!
I would say take him for counseling. It could be that he is using eating as a way to make himself feel better.. My mom is currently finishing her masters for children's counseling and we have talked about things like this before, since she was learning about them.
I agree, I think counseling would be a good idea just to rule out anything that might be occurring chemically or emotionally with your son. You can ask your pediatrician for a referral to someone who can help you. Best of luck!
It sounds like he has an eating disorder but I'm not sure. What kind of foods do you feed him? Can you incorporate foods in his meal that are rich in water to help him shed off pounds? Perhaps you can make him a cabbage soup or broccoli and cauliflower pastels. Grapefruits, radishes, lettuce and spinach are good for his body as well.
yes counseling will help, also encourage him to eat more healthy foods like fruits, yogurt etc.
Have you heard of Body by Vi? It's safe for kids and it has helped A LOT of kids get healthier... won't fix the reasons behind why he's eating that way, obviously. It tastes sweet, though, so it may be easier for you to encourage him to choose that over other things; it's loaded with protein and fiber and 23 vitamins, as well as a metabolism boosting ingredient, so it may be worth a try. I can tell you more about it, if you're interested.
Controlling the food intake of a growing child is really difficult. It is not only hard for the child, but it also is hard on the part of the parents. I agree with the posts above. A counselor may be the best help you can get. In the meantime, you can encourage your child to eat fresh fruits every time he craves to eat in between meals.
Oh no! A good friend of ours had the same issue with her daughter Best thing to do was to introduce more healthy snacks more often during the day. My friend also encouraged her daughter to start taking dance classes and she loves it! So a hobby and different snacks might help. Good luck!
I think, it's not a major problem because during childhood, every child is fat. So you don't worry about that problem. If you still want to get good solution, then I must say that visit the expert kids doctor. He/she will definitely help you.
