My stepdaughter, who is 2, keeps getting hand, foot, & mouth disease regularly. Everytime she comes to our house I bathe her once she gets here and then again before she goes home. We play outside frequently, but she never gets really dirty and usually she gets a bath within an hour or so afterwards anyways. Our house is very clean. I don't understand how she keeps getting this. Her mother says it is because she is around other children that have it, but most of my friends that are moms either don't know what it is, or say their child had it one time but never again. It concerns me because she gets these bumps and blisters on her and they look like they hurt, and she even has some scars on her legs from where she has scratched at them before. When she is at our house, I keeo pants on her so she won't scratch if she has them. Her mom blames it on us frequently, and mostly dismisses her legs as "bug bites" but she always has so,ething. How do I prevent my beautiful princess from getting this even though I only have her two to three timws a week? Soon we will get her on the every,other weekend schedule.....any advice?
