    Default Dealing With Uninterested Ex-

Our son will be 17 in a few weeks, we are divorced. Every time there is a school function, fun or otherwise, she complains constantly that she has to go, etc.

We moved to a new city in 2007 and she has yet to sign up to receive email notifications for events, grades, missing assignments, etc. I keep her informed, however she missed the last parent-teacher conferences because she chose to have a massage instead, even though he was failing three classes.

I'm very fed up with this so I offered that we should meet with an arbitrator to best agree on a way to get him through school-she refused. We differ radically on how to work with him. She feels he'll just "get it together" and I'm worried we are running out of time. I'd like to see him graduate with his class, and also have him feel like he accomplished something.

There are conferences tomorrow night and I haven't told her about them. Do I dare attend without telling her? I will just work directly with my son. I'm assuming she won't even know they happened.

    Thank you for any insight!

Your ex has long been ignoring her duties as a mother to your son so you don't need to waste time telling her about your son's important events. She does not care anyway so give her a silent treatment.
