I'm not sure what to do with my 8 year old nephew. I just got guardianship of him and he's already misbehaving. I know he has ADHD and my sister told me they had diagnosed him with oppositional defiant behavior disorder. I have been making appointments for him to be seen by a therapist but in the meantime today was his first day of school here with me and he got sent home early because he kept shutting the other kids' notebooks on them and tapping pencils on his desk. When the teacher asked him to stop he looked at her and kept doing it. He also told his teacher to shut up when she took him to the principal's office and he again went straight to the principal's office after lunch. The principal even sat with him in class for a bit and he wouldn't listen and told them he hates school and didn't want to be there so they sent him home early. Now if I just had him to deal with it wouldn't be so stressful but I also have my 4 year old daughter to deal with. I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to handle him because even if the doctor gives him medication for the ADHD what can I do about his attitude?
