Sleep safety concern

Hello everyone,

I have a bit of a dilema and I'm not sure how to go about it. My wife thinks that our two month old is always cold even when he is obviously sweating and hot and overdresses him and covers him in blankets when putting him to sleep. She also insists on putting him to sleep on top of pillows and thick blankets despite what I tell her about them causing SIDS. When I show her pages regarding this, she just tells me they are overreacting. I need advice how to go about this topic because I cannot sleep since every time the baby squeaks I snap awake. Try going to your pediatrician and addressing your concerns with them. Maybe at the next doctor visit, the doctor could bring up your child's sleeping situation and go from there. If your wife won't listen to you, you might try calling your mother in law. Have your mother in law do some research on sids and pillows and blankets and tell her you are worried about her grandchild. Your wife won't listen to you but that you know she will listen to her mother. Maybe if it comes from her own mom, she'd be more apt to believe it. It only takes a few moments for a child to stop breathing and the unthinkable to happen. I don't want anyone to have to live with the death of a child if it's preventable. Good luck.

Consulting your son's pediatrician is a must. Your wife must be worried on your son's situation so she does not listen to anyone, but try to communicate with your mother-in-law to help her convince that putting your son to sleep on top of pillows and thick blankets is dangerous.
