I know it sounds crazy, but I have a 20 YEAR history of infertility. I went for fertility testing 8 years ago and was told that both tubes were scarred shut, and IVF would be my only option. I am 41.

I had NO IDEA until Saturday that I was pregnant, and today I found out I am 26 weeks. The OB practically kicked me out of his office, telling me I'm too far along, and he wouldn't take me as a patient because I have missed all the important testing and screening, like for Down's Syndrome. He referred me to the hospital High Risk Clinic.

I am very nervous, and feel now that there will be something wrong and it will be my own fault. Has anyone here also been late to recognize their pregnancy and maybe have some positive stories to share?

Thanks.
