Smile anyone have a hystersalpingogram done?

Hi I'm going in this afternoon for a hystosalpingogram and I'm wondering if afterward there is a lot of cramping or discomfort. The Technician told me I should be fine however I may want to take some midol before the test. Well the other day I was talking to a coworker who had this done 15 years ago and said she was extremelly crampy. I was going to work after the procedure however I'm not sure if I should. We have been trying to concieve for almost 2 to 2 1/2 years now to no avail. We have a son who is 5, Dr wants test done to make sure there is no scar tissue in the tubes or something. This test will illuminate my uterus and fallopian tubes. If anyone knows something or had one done recently please let me know also wish me the best of luck.

Well all done with the procedure. It went ok, a lot of cramping afterward and then some bleeding but nothing I could not handle. I ended up calling into work. Glad I did. During the procedure at first the left fallopian tube did not want to fill with the dye then I cramped up for about a second and then all of the sudden the dye burst through the tube. The Radiologist said that maybe some scar tissue was in place but the dye may have moved it. So wish us luck that we have some results this next month.

Hello! Glad you're okay. My neighbor has had the procedure twice! It was how she concieved both times. She has a four and a half year old and had a miscarriage two years ago (it had nothing to do with this procedure, her new doctor did not give her enough progesterone to sustain her pregnancy). I have heard that it is very sucessful if there is blockage in the tubes. Good Luck!
