That may be what your priest said, but God says something else.

Don't worry, I don't get heated when my husband is working nights. Also, I didn't link you to religion, you linked yourself.. The whole "I was raised Catholic bit"??? Remember that? Well, anywho. You have accepting knowing nothing and no interest in learning. I think this conversation has hit a rather usless note.

Agreed, I don’t know why people like to make such a big deal out of nothing, yes I was raised catholic, doesn’t mean I pay any attention to what was going on. I’m only 23, maybe later on in life I will focus on religion. You have to be ready for that sort of stuff, I'm still not.

What was the point of this thread again? Oh yeah, firebabe wanted some opinions about when to baptize her daughter and what kind of celebration would be appropriate.

i stick by what I said. Romans 6... Start there. If you are confused, start in acts, when baptism was instituted for the remission of sin. Baptism is a personal disicion. Only her daughter can say, "I am ready." All we can do as parents is expose them to the truth.

Wow did not know this would turn into a heated argument. I appreciate all the replies I didn't not know that baptism was a personal choice and war eagle is right when he siad my dd can't make that choice yet. I will say this I wasn't raised with religion and I have always felt there was something missing. I have recently decided to accept Christianity and the lord into my life, although I have no idea how to begin becoming a Christian.
If we don't push ourselves to the limit, how do we know what we are capable of?"

You have to be careful how you say that because the way you phrased it, it sounds as though baptism, itself, can remit your sins.

All baptism does is get you wet.

No, I'm an elder but we don't have titles for that. I suppose people could call me "Elder Mike" or "Elder McK", but we don't do that.

We don't use the title "father" for two reasons. The first is because Jesus said not to and the second is to differentiate ourselves from Roman Catholicism which, as we've seen here, is Unbiblical.
