    Talking Mr. President

How did you guys feel about the election last night? I, personally, was pretty happy with it. I think most of McCain's campaign was slander against Obama anyways... The only thing that makes me nervous is the "dirty laundry" that has just come to light within the last few days. I really hope that he can do what needs to be done and get our country back to it's old, beautiful self again. Let me know what you guys think and feel.

In the short term, this is going to be disastrous for our country. In the long term, I think it will be a good thing because the coming economic trainwreck and loss of our liberties will cause Americans to realize just how far off track we've gotten.

Like they say, Jimmy Carter was terrible for our country, but it took Jimmy Carter to give us Ronald Reagan.

I would like to congratulate the media on getting Obama elected. I will stand behind him, but I am very interested to see how the next 4 years turn out. I hope that he will prove me wrong and do a great job.

I am excited to see real history during my lifetime. Something other than 911. Wow our first African-American president. The presidents have been doing a crappy job for quite a while now. I'm glad to some something "different" in the white house. Lets see what he can do. Bush put us in the crapper, I'm not expecting Obama to pull us out but I definitely don't think he can make it any worse.

Besides I'm glad to see the Dems making a comeback!

I, too, am excited to see history made. I think Obama will be good for us though! I have been strictly Obama from the get-go, McCain jsut didnt sit right with me... I felt liek all he had to say was something against Obama, trashtalk if you will. I have felt liek Obama is closer to real American problems, the 'poor' american people... McCain did not strke me as compassionate on that aspect- not in the least. My husband is in the Army, and he said last night, after the election was done, that he will be staying in a lot longer now. He said that if McCain got in, he would get out. Plain and Simple. I personally am very excited to see how Obama does in the White House. To the person who said it took Jimmy Carter to get us Ronald Reagan- Whta if we just got past the Jimmy Carter or OUR time, and are now facing the beginning of our Reagan's term? I have high hopes for the future of America now- I felt honestly that if McCain got in, we would be sitting here for the next four years feelign the same way we already have... It is time for some real change. And I think Obama will definitely give it to us.

I have to agree with War_Eagle, I think in the short term Obama is the worst thing that could have happened.

I'm so excited that my child will be growing up during such a historically significant time period. It's like our grandparents and great grandparents that lived thru the depression and the World Wars... My son gets to grow up with the first black American president! It'll be cool when I tell my grandkids, in 2008 I got to experience history!

It is exciting to witness history being made, but I'm up in the air about this. I feel that this could go either way. He could end up being a very good president who brings this country out of the muck, or he could sink us even further. I pray for the sake of America that he turns out to be a great leader. I agree with Kelly that it will be very interesting to see what he does in the next 4 years.

Well, I can tell you this. I'm scared for one very important reason. Pulling tax cuts from businesses is going to cost jobs!!! How good is that for our economy?

I am glad that Palin isn't our VP though. If she would have submitted her resume to the company I work for HR wouldn't have even filed it. It would have gone straight into the shredder. Five schools to get one communications degree??? NOT GOOD! Anyone who wouldn't be hired by the company I work for should NEVER be second in command of our country. Not to mention the fact that Michelle Obama is better suited to be our VP.

In the end I can only hope that our new president does right by the us and stops the demise of America's middle class.

And, just for the record, I couldn't bring myself to vote for either of them.
