Default Unhappy child because of move

Our family of four recently moved from California to Colorado. before the move our Children were excited about the move, but now my 5 year old son complains about living in Colorado at least once a week, and always talks about moving back to California.

The main reason that he wants to move back to California is my wife's mother, she watched the kids several times a week and he misses her a lot.

I certainly want my Children to be happy about the move, and I'm not sure if this will pass over time, or if there are things we can do to help him enjoy living in Colorado more?

    Any suggestions are appreciated

    Thank you

It is obvious that your heart aches for your daughter and I commend you for your desire to reach out to her. Leaving your extended family behind is hard on the whole family, but it’s especially tough for kids. I am with Focus on the Family and I thought you might be interested in the following articles: (http://bit.ly/GI5Ug0) and (http://bit.ly/GCYSLs) for related guidance. Additionally, if you get a chance, check out the following broadcast: "Navigating Through the Challenges of Moving" Part 1 and Part 2. Just visit www.focusonthefamily.com and type the referred title in the search box. Keep also in mind that we have counselors available to you on a complimentary basis, and would be great resource for further help. They are caring professionals and I know that they'd love to talk with you about your situation. God's blessings to you and your family.
