Hi, I'm 19 and currently a sophomore in college. I live at school and have been dating my boyfriend (24) for six months. He's met most of my family already since I'm very close to them, and they all seem to like him very much, even though he is older. This summer we want to take a couple of camping trips with some friends and some of his family. I'm really nervous to ask my parents if I can go with him because they are very conservative even though I am an adult. Last summer they let me travel to New York city by myself to take summer courses but I'm not sure if they would let me go camping with my boyfriend even though we'll only be a short distance away. How can I show them that I'm not a little girl anymore and capable of making my own decisions even when they're so conservative? They expect me to go to church every Sunday, not have my boyfriend spend the night, no sex till marriage, etc. I'm the complete opposite of them, but I'm still pretty grounded (I don't party, I get straight A's, etc)
