Default Spending money and time on Apps/eBooks

    Hi there!

I have two children - a daughter (9yo) and a son (6yo). I have a smartphone and we are thinking of buying an eReader or iPad sometime soonish. My kids play some with my phone, but I'm guessing they'll be all over an iPad (it won't be stashed away in my purse!)

I don't want my kids too addicted to Apps, though, so I was wondering how much time people let their kids play on iPads/iPhones etc? So far I've been a bit of a cheapskate and generally only download free apps... I was wondering how much other people think it's reasonable to spend on an App or eBook? Are their Apps/eBooks worth a higher (i.e. not free!) price?

    Thanks!

Oh I know what you mean!!! This year, for the first year in our local school system, each of the kindergartners were issued an iPad to use until 4th grade. They all came fully loaded with great apps for education. Of course, we are nearing the end of the year and he has played all of the games, some more than others. He is forever asking if he can download new apps.

One day, while looking through dozens of edutainment games, I came across CookieCoo Dancing Star. I knew immediately that both my son and my three-year-old daughter were going to love CookieCoo and I was right ! Though, what little kid wouldn't love cookies dancing to popular children's songs? My kids are already avid dancers, but this app gives them a chance to learn about rhythm while dancing to and singing their favorite songs and even learning a few new songs.

I definitely think this is one of the best educational apps for children that I have found. CookieCoo keeps them occupied and active at home on the iPad. I have to say though, that CookieCoo on my iPhone and has saved my sanity more times than I can count. They have played along in the car, at the driver's license bureau and waiting in long lines (not only do they entertain themselves, but also the people around them).

Honestly, I don't know what in the world I would do without CookieCoo and I hope I never have to find out!

    Loving Every minute of it!!!
