    Default Speech therapist being intrusive?

My son's speech therapist wants to attend his pediatric workup.... She asked me when and where his appointment was, then asked me if I minded if she came. I reluctantly said yes, then she asked if the director could come too. So apparently they planned on it. My son has is only diagnosed with a mild speech delay, but she says things he's lost in hospital own world, little eye contact. I am home with him everyday, and myself and others that truly know him don't see these issues. Am I being paranoid?

What is the work up for?????Does it concern speech and language, swallow? If it does then its beneficial as she can also provide his professional input since he also knows your son having work with him. In a US setting we have privacy rules and only a concerned clinician(meaning giving direct care ) should be involve. Clarify with your son's therapist what is the reason why the director is joining? Remember you have every right to decline her or both of them..It doesnt hurt to ask. I am a parent too as well as a therapist and I understand your feelings...Seeking another opinion is also another avenue you could look into and see what they think?
