    Question Weaning... What to do?

I'm a mom of a 11 month old and I'm starting to wean her off her formula. I'm so confused about what I should be doing. When I give her food to eat she doesn't want it. I don't know if she getting enough to eat. I just need some tips or advice from anyone!! It's driving me insane. Please help!

Mary_Aretta,Hey I understand your frustration! That age and food troubles seem to be the norm When,I was weaning from formula to whole milk I started with 3/4 formula and 1/4 milk for a few days then I started half and half for a week then I went to 1/4 formula and 3/4 milk for a week then I started giving him only milk,It went pretty good for us,when we went to just milk I started giving to him in a sippy cup and it wasn't long after I chucked the bottles...I kinda don't understand what you mean by not eating her food??Does she not like solids/realdeal food or has she startedrefusing the solids she used to like?I know at 11 months my son was sick of the baby food and started refusing solids so I had to be pretty creative in the realdeal food I was giving him....If you can explain it better to me then Maybe I can help you a little more

It just seems like she never can get enough to eat. She always wants the bottle. Maybe i just haven't found what she likes or something. I have been trying to feed her real food not just baby food. she never liked that stuff. I had the hardest time feeding it to her. Maybe it's just me and I just think she isn't eating enough. But tonight I gave her a warm bottle of just milk and it seems to have worked. We will see.

Do you think maybe cause she always seems to want the bottle it just may be that she's thirsty??I had never thought of it and my mother pointed it out to me..To try giving him water/juice in between milk/formula,I would give him milk with breakfast then if he started seeming "hungry for bottle"I tried giving him water/or juice and it seemed to do the trick and he ended up eating more at mealtimes cause he wasn't having the opportunity to fill-up on milk.Good luck,Let us know how it goes
