Default New here and need advice! :)

Hey everyone, my name is Tiffany and my husband and I have been TTC for about 5-6 years now. I'm just looking for a little advice and pep talk I guess! We were told we had fertility issues and he has a very low sperm count. We are now saving up to do IVF however as we all know it's very expensive. I've started an onliine fundraiser to help raise money and enlisted the help of facebook friends that are willing to donate or pass the link along. I guess I get discouraged knowing how much it costs and how big of a goal it is. I have some in an IRA account but it's not enough to do everything. Does anyone have any ideas or ways that I may be able to reach my goal...like fundraising ideas? I'm a graphic designer and I've designed t-shirts before to help people raise money for breast cancer and other such funds however this time it's very personal so it's hard to think of ideas that could help. Our goal is $15,000 so i'm just looking for new creative ideas to help us raise the money. We recently moved to Alabama to start our lives over and things are going great! Thanks to anyone who reads this!

Default Hope you find this helpful!

    Hi Tiffany,

My name is Gloria and, like you, my husband and I had a difficult time conceiving. It took about 5 years, many different fertility treatments and 5 IVF cycles. Our triplets (BGB) were born Feb. 2006. You're absolutely correct: IVF treatments are extremely expensive! You mentioned that you're a graphic designer. One idea that came to mind is to create a series of designs around the topic of motherhood, infertility, adoption, etc. that you can take and print on shirts, mugs, mouse pads, etc. and sell them on a site like http://www.cafepress.com/. I've never done it before but have a SIL that has used it with success. Another suggestion: Have you researched financing IVF treatments? We used www.arcfertility.com.

I really hope you find this information helpful. I wish you and your husband the best of luck with pursuing your dream of a family.

    Best wishes,
    Gloria K.
