Hi everyone,

I am a college student majoring in Human Development and Familiy Studies, and I am finishing up my term paper for my parenting course. The purpose of the paper is to study how parents subtly influence their preschoolers’ (age 3-4) ideas about gender-appropriate behavior.

I have surveyed parents around my town, but I would like to get a few more parents to participate if possible! The three questions that I am trying to get a few more responses are:

1. How do you socialize gender attitudes and behaviors in your children?

2. Do you encourage your children to be androgynous or masculine/feminine?

3. If your children are behaving in a way that is inconsistent with your ideals on gender behavior, how do you try to fix it?

Thanks!
