My daughter is 19 months old and knows how to throw quite the tantrums. Sometimes you can distract her, sometimes you can offer her something and she will happily agree, other times she is as stubborn as can be about something she has her mind set to. Every morning around 2 or 3 in the morning, she sneaks in bed with us. A habit I'm not fond of, but being a working parent and getting tired of the sleepless nights of making her go back to her room, we gave in. This isn't where the problem lies. It's when I get up in the morning to take a shower that that chain of events occur. We have a shower in our bedroom and she will be sound asleep when I wake up and go to the bathroom, but as soon as I turn the water on and get in the shower, it is meltdown city. She bangs and kicks and screams at the door wanting me to come out. Not being the most pleasant way to be woken up, my husband gets irritated and tries to do everything in his power to get her to stop. But the only thing she wants is me. If he takes her to the other room to eat or to play or to do something else, she kicks and flails and then runs back to the bathroom door where I am and continues to kick and scream and throw the worst tantrums. I don't know what to do about it. Any suggestions would be helpful.
