    Default Pregnant?

My husband and I were not "actively" TTC (with that said, we would happily welcome a new bundle of joy). Here's the situation: I had a period 9.1.11-9.5.11 - totally normal, right. Then, my next period was a whole week early, 9.24.11 -9.28.11 (I was not supposed to start until 9.30.11). I am ALWAYS right on time - never a day early, never a day late - I am spot on - all the time. I did not let the early period bother me, as I was under a little stress around this time frame. Well, my next period should have come 10.20.11 - no sign of aunt flo. As of today, I am 5 days late. I have not yet taken a HPT. My questions are was my period that was a week early possibly implantation bleeding and is there a chance this could be a pregnancy? I have had no other symptoms so to speak...my sense of smell is a little heightened, other than that (and the obvious missed/late period) I am not tired, naseated, sore, etc. and I don't "feel" pregnant. Any comments will help. Many Thanks!

A HPT is the best way to go. I got morning sickness at exactly 6 weeks both times (and don't feel pregnant before that even though I chart and basicaly know the day I am pregnant), but others don't get any symptoms for a lot longer. Stress can also be a factor - if you are stressed the body is less likely to ovulate.

I'd just take a HPT, for a stick you pee on they are kind of spendy, but in the grand sceme of what you spend on stuff in the course of a year, or even month or week it is a drop in the bucket. 5 days late should give you a pretty good result. For piece of mind, you might want to consider a digital test, a little more expensive, but you aren't going to see a ghost line that makes you question the result.
