Default How do you wash your bottles?!

Okay, so I'll admit, I'm a tiny bit of a germaphobe. (or a lot!) I'm trying to figure out the best way to wash/santitize baby bottles and need your help! I'd really like to use the dishwasher because I think that disinfects and de-santizies way better than anything else. But... I don't really want my baby's bottles in there with all our food either. I'm thinking about buying a small dishwasher, the type that sits on the counter that I could use exclusively for bottles. My husband thinks this is crazy. Can anyone back me up on this?! What have you done? Did anyone else go for this?
Thanks so much guys for your advice!

Your regular dishwasher should be fine. Just be conscious of what else is in the dishwasher (ie greasy plates may leave a grease residue on the plastic). The dishwasher, even with other food in it, shouldn't leave anything that will harm your baby. Also, you can be overly "germaphobic" to the point of failing to help your baby develop their immune system - leading to lots of illness or possible allergies (or so is theorized).

You will probably want to use a bottle scrubber to pre-rinse the bottles - otherwise gunk may accumulate on the bottom that the dishwasher may or may not get.

From what I have read, as long a you are on city water or your well water has been tested - there is no reason to sanitize the bottles - the water is clean enough (this wasn't true generations ago, thus the method has stuck around).
