i understand completely, i'm a new mommy too, and i am having such a hard time making other mommy friends, is there like a playgroup or something in that nature that could help? if there is join i am going to do that tomorrow with my son, even if he's a little young, it's mostly so i can make friends.

    To Izzy's mommy:
Check out some of the community or civic organizations in your town...one our town has that has made a big difference in my life are the Jaycees (also may be called the Junior Chamber), there are others also out there for young people that do community work and work with various children's events. This has been a great way for me to meet not only other moms, but people my age in general that have similar interests. Also has some great self improvement trainings that have been a great boost to my career. You could probably call your local city hall or chamber of commerce for a listing of civic/community groups. Don't feel shy about showing up at an event...these groups are used to it and thrive on new members to the organizations. May also be a way to get over some of your shyness that seems to be holding you back from approaching other moms too!
    Good Luck!!
