At wits end with potty training

I am in need of some advice. My mother has been trying to potty train my neice as per my sisters instructions for almost 8 months now. My neice is 2 1/2 years old. She has no interest in using the potty. My mom has tried bribing her with everything from candy to toys. What you need to understand is that my mother has already raised her 4 kids and is trying to run a business with my father that takes up all of her time. I try to help but I have two small children of my own. My mother tries her best but she is older and is tired at the end of a long busy day, so please don't chastise her for the methods she has tried. That being said, they have used pull ups and my neice took those as being really cool diapers. They are now using cloth training pants which poses another problem for my mother. She now has to clean up the pee and poop messes when my neice doesn't use the potty and she never uses the potty. This is a stress my mother does not need. I guess my question is...Is there a method that my mother and I can try to use for a 2 year old who has always had her own way and is a very head strong defiant child? I am not speaking ill of my neice by any means but she is difficult to handle and it is getting harder and harder each day. I know there are some disipline issues there to but that is another post that gets into why she is being raised by her grandmother 99% of the time and by her mother 1% of the time and i am not exagerating on that one.

Please, I know this got long winded but there are alot of thoughts going through my mind. If anyone has any suggestions as to what we can try I would greatly appreciate it

I'm not trying to be rude or anything and get in the middle of your thread. Really, I'm sorry to go off subject, but I have tried searching Google, Yahoo Answers, and now I am trying this.
Here's my question:
I have been on this website since yesterday and I am very unsatisfied. I would like to know how to delete my account.
If you need to know why here:

I dont know if i can be any help, since im going threw some potty issues with my son, but whenever my son goes to the potty in his pants, i put him on the potty and i show him whats in the pull up or diaper. and then i tell him that he must go on the potty and not the pants. hes a hit and a miss with it. i dont know if your niece likes stickers but what you can also try is for every time she goes on the potty let her put a sticker on a chart than whenever she goes in her pants she must take a sticker off. i hope this is some help.

Maybe she started training her too early. Has she been training her since she just turned 2?
