I have a 4 year old son that coughs..always has. He's been treated for asthma, but that didn't improve it at all. He's been allergy tested, by 2 different allergist, and all tests were negative. He's been to an ENT, and everything checked out just fine. Xrays of his chest are clear. He was even tested for TB, which was negative. BUT, the thing is..he can go for a while and not make a sound..days or weeks..then it starts in..one night he'll cough so much he'll about throw up, which he did when he was younger..and then the next night, he'll sleep like the dead without a sound. Sometimes he coughs during the day and then not at night, other times, he won't cough all day long, and then cough most of the night!! It's very frustrating, especially when it effects his sleep! My mom told me that I was the same way as a baby, and that around the kindergarten age, I stopped. Just wondered if anyone has any ideas or has been there. He's been on nebulizers, which didn't help, Singular, which helped once in a while..nothing seems to stop the cough at night..not Vicks on the feet or anywhere, not a drink of water, not cool air, not a sip of cough med, nothing..I'm at a loss!!
