Question What do moms do all day? Eat bonbons?

A non-mom asked this of me (partly in jest) today. After one of the most frustrating mornings ever. Read on for the whole story - http://ayankeemomintexas.blogspot.com/

Any idiot ever asked anyone else a question like this??

I LOVE your blog! I ran across this photo a year or so ago on a friend's FB and was happy to see someone finally give it to those who put us SAHMs down... http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/x...54256_1068.jpg
If you haven't seen it, or even if you have, enjoy!

I've gotten that question before. Another mom from Hunter's pre-school came by to pick up her son and we were chatting over coffee. She asked what my husband and I do for a living. The conversation went a little something like this:

Mom1: So, what do you guys do?

Me: Well, my husband's a graphic designer and I'm a mom!

    Mom1: *Blank stare* You're a mom?

    Me: Yeah.......

Mom1: But what do you do?

I love the article. The point that it takes 45 min to do what used to take 15 is so true. That is why I have no time when I am home all day (but can get all the chores done after my husband gets home and keeps our child busy) :-)

Yesterday I was trying to pick up and it seemed what ever I just put away my 2 year old daughter wanted and had to have. It takes forever when you pick up and turn around and it is back on the floor. I also asked her to pick up her pile of books in her room. She sat there and looked through everyone while picking them up. She is 2 so I am not going to press the issue but it takes a long time to pick up. If I try to fold laundry while she is up she tries to help, she will take the clothes and go put them away, dropping some and not always getting them where they go. I love that she helps and do not want to discourage that but it makes more work for me.
